Who are ViC’s Angel Investors?
ViC has currently vetted more than 15 angel investors from various sectors and industries. This number is continuously growing.
Ranging from their mid-30s to mid-50s, our Members (angel investors) have extensive business experience, industry knowledge and domain expertise. Most are also investment savvy. This allows them to better evaluate startups or early stage companies with potential – which can be the very same companies that banks would reject due to lack of collateral and/or track record.
They understand that investing in early stage companies is highly risky, but unlike other investors, angels are special people who want to make more than just money. They also want to make meaning – by empowering entrepreneurs to realise their vision.
But most importantly, our angel investors have the means to invest and are willing to mentor/coach/guide the companies that they are investing in. This is what we term as meaningful value-add.
Membership for angel investors to join ViC is exclusively by invitation. We do not charge angel investors a membership fee, but the ViC Committee vets them to ensure that they are genuine angel investors who meet our criteria.
Furthermore, ViC maintains only a small pool of angels at a time – those who are ever ready to dip into their pockets to invest and are just waiting for the right companies to come along.
